The Meritor Permalube™ (RPL) driveline is greased and sealed for life – both U-joint and slip section. Permanent lubrication eliminates downtime for greasing drivelines, increases fleet efficiency, and reduces operating and maintenance costs. Building on our proven RN series U-joint design, the Meritor XTended Lube Driveline (MXL™) includes RPL premium sealing technology. Improved seals extend lubrication intervals for both U-joints and slip sections to 100,000 miles for linehaul applications, reducing operating and maintenance costs.

Field-proven, internally mounted advanced nitrile seal design ensures that lubrication is protected from contaminants and prevention of water intrusion. Corrosion-resistant seal guard protects and secures the advanced slip seal – providing increased durability over booted designs. The robust, easy-service U-joint retention system eliminates spinning cups. Our RPL Driveline offers a bearing package with large diameter, precision-tolerance needle bearing for optimum bearing alignment and maximized performance. The RPL is permanently lubricated with our specially formulated wear- and temperature-resistant grease. Steel straps ensure bearing cups are located to precise dimensions. Two piece U-joint thrust washer prevents bearing end galling and absorbs loads for minimized wear and extended lifecycle. And the driveline is retained with four patch lock bolts for simplified installation and ease of service.

The completely symmetrical (mirror image) disc design means the discs start out flat and stay flat through the life of the clutch and our patented Controlled Center Plate Release ensures disc separation/complete clutch release, preventing drag problems.

Finally, the ventilated cover housing creates air circulation for cooling to decrease wear and promote long life.

Our single-speed transfer cases provide required grade-ability and power for demanding applications. These transfer cases are ideal for trucks with high-torque diesel engines and deeper-ratio transmissions. Our single-speed transfer cases embody a modular design concept to maximize  drain plugs. Triple-lip sealing ensures that contaminants are shut out. All gear shafts come equipped with a helical main drive gearing and tapered roller bearings for a long life.

The Meritor two-speed transfer cases feature ground helical gearing in both high and low ranges for quiet, high-speed operation with increased durability. Our advanced lubrication system uses a bi-directional forced lube pump with seal ring technology, full synthetic lube, unitized seals, sump magnets and large sump capacity – all for maximum lube integrity (no initial lube change; extended lube change intervals).

The oil-cooler is ready to allow for internal pump flow to be diverted to an external oil-cooler for increased input speeds. The MTC-4210 model is PTO ready.
