- Water trap
- Any combination of the above
The material used in the construction of our mufflers is aluminized steel, which can withstand a maximum operating temperature up to 1250° F. Other materials are also available, such as mild steel and stainless steel in various thicknesses.
Body diameters range from 2 to 64.25 inches for round bodies and 1.75″ x 4.50″ to 12″ x 23″ for oval-bodied mufflers. Custom diameters are available as are “cup” and “box” style bodies. Length and inlet/outlet configurations can be designed to meet your specific needs, or you can choose from one of our standard line of mufflers.
Special Mufflers
In addition to our standard muffler line, our special mufflers have been developed to meet your specific needs. We offer both spark arresting mufflers and aspirating mufflers.
Spark Arrestors
Spark Arrestors capture hot carbon particles from an engine and prevent them from exiting the muffler. Cummins has the largest number of USDA Forest Service qualified spark arrestors in the world. Cummins spark arrestors have been qualified for UL (Underwriters Laboratories) approval, military specifications, and many other international requirements.
Aspirators
Aspirators are used extensively on agricultural and off-road construction equipment. Cummins offers a broad standard line, or we can custom-design one for your specific needs. The function of an aspirator is to assist the pre-cleaner and extend air element life. Aspirators are integrated into custom exhaust mufflers or outlet tubes and can be combined with spark arresting capabilities.
Most spark arrestors and aspirators are incorporated into a custom-designed muffler. However, Cummins also offers a standard line of spark arrestors, which have been approved by the USDA Forest Service for both gas and diesel powered engines.
