Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

DEF is a urea-based chemical reactant designed specifically for use in SCR systems to reduce NOx emissions.

DEF Informational Video

The raw materials used to produce DEF include natural gas, coal or other petroleum products. DEF is prepared by dissolving solid high purity urea in deionized water to create a 32.5% solution in water. DEF and similar urea-based products are widely used today for a variety of agricultural and industrial needs. Fleetguard DEF meets ISO22241 specifications for purity and composition, while being:

  • Non-toxic and non-polluting
  • Non-flammable
  • Stable and colorless
  • Non-hazardous
  • Does not require special handling

Dispensing Equipment
To prevent contamination, clean dispensing equipment made with DEF compatible materials must be used when dispensing Air Shield into the vehicle. Cummins Filtration offers a complete line of DEF compatible dispensing equipment.

Air Shield DEF is API and AdBlue certified to guarantee it meets ISO22241 specifications. Air Shield is available in various packaging sizes, including 1 and 2.5 gallon bottles, 55 gallon drums, 275 gallon disposable totes, 330 gallon totes and bulk. Our 2.5 gallon bottles come with a vent and dispensing spout to allow for easy fill of your DEF tank within 30 seconds.
